Bags made of recycled PET bottles conque Switzerland

Logo Rossis

Due to the removal of free-of-charge plastic bags, now PET-recycled bags are conquering Switzerland

The small idea to save CO2 emissions is becoming a big story. Francesco Rossi connects sustainability and innovation.

With the „I  was a bottle“ Collection, the Designer presents an cutting-edge Premium Recycling conzept. Hi-tech production processes transform it into a resistent but at the same time smooth material. The fabric can be used as lining as well as water-repellent outer layer.

The 4-piece Collection can be found at the Rossi Shop in Zürich and on Avalaibe also at GLOBUS and Modissa.

Why are we producing bags out of used PET bottles:  less CO2 emissions

In 2008, within a study of the ETH Zürich, all production processes of Rossi Design Ltd. and their CO2 emissions have been analysed. Changes in production, transport and travel arrangements showed a reduction of 28% of CO2 emissions. Also in the future we will do our very best to stick to environmentally friendly behaviour and therefore to reduce CO2 emissions and to use as little energy as possible. We achieve this mostly with the use of sustainable materials and fabrics.

„To care for the environment with these accesories, gives me a good feeling," defines Franceso Rossi, Founder and Owner of the Rossi Brand, his new product line. His message is simple but also complex: "Sustainability and a conscious interaction with the environment and its resources, are key. With the new I-was-a-bottle recacled PET Collection we can reduce the CO2 emissions compared to conventional productions, by 50% reduzieren.”

Francesco Rossi leads his company in Zürich Wollishofen and employes 8 member of staff.

His products are available online on, or at Torgasse 1 Zürich Bellevue, as well as an der Albisstrasse 143 in Zürich.
